later, the speech entitled “the initial heart and mission of chinese lawyers” was delivered by dean lu jianping and presided over by lawyer xu bo, the president of the institute of criminal law of beijing zhonglun w&d law firm. in his speech, professor lu jianping reviewed his career as a lawyer, examined the evolution and development of the lawyer profession in china, and emphasized the great value and positive role of the lawyer profession in the establishment of china's socialist legal system and the development of the legal cause. additionally, he pointed out the development direction and trend of china's lawyer profession under the background of socialist legal system and analyzed the basic qualities and business development path required by chinese lawyers in the process of globalization. in his view, chinese lawyers should clearly define their mission of the times and dream of the rule of law in the current environment. they should stay true to the mission, continuously forge ahead, constantly be strict with themselves with legal provisions and the spirit of the rule of law, strictly abide by their duties, conform to the development of the times, and give full play to the legal value of the lawyer profession and individuals.
