to unify the alumni to contribute to the development of bnu, cultivate alumni culture, the law school has started to prepare and carry out gift delivery activity to alumni of law school since april 2018. it prepared gifts for alumni elaborately which carries the beautiful expectation and sincere blessing for the alumni to construct the carries of memory on the law school. in this way, alumni from law school of bnu can experience the endless love and affection from “trees” to “leaves”
the law school of bnu has developed for two decades. from law major to faculty of law, from faculty of law to law school, this alumni gift delivery activity has covered every graduate from 1999 to 2017 of the law school of bnu, totaling 2993 people.
it's not the gift that counts, but the thought behind it. during this activity, the school prepared four souvenirs for alumni: first, the hand written letter from professor lu jianping, dean of law school, which carries the beautiful blessing and deep feeling of mr. lu to over one thousand alumni of the law school of bnu; second, the logo of law school, which serves as the print of law school of bnu, represents the expectation “the alumni around the world will still keep bnu in mind” of the school on all alumni; third, the carpenter’s square, which signifies model as well as standard. it embodies the sincere anticipation “self-cultivation and self-discipline” of law school on every law person graduated from bnu; fourth, the note pad printed with school logo, which carried the earnest hope of consistency and insatiable desire to learn of the school on all alumni.
after the gifts were delivered, this activity organized by the school was well-received among alumni. many alumni said that they cannot help but recalling the days when they were studying at law school of bnu when they received the gifts. several years in bnu are their strong boost to forge ahead in life. on the lush tree of law school of bnu, alumni are like green leaves that stretches and extends. they absorb sunshine and endeavor to grow. they bear the edification of “learn to be an excellent teacher; act as an exemplary person” of the bnu in mind and the dream of “moral education for talents, law practice around the world” of the law school in mind with affection of “green leaves” to “root” deep down.
laughter under muduo, bleak apricot leaves besides gym, loud and clear talking of teachers in teaching building 9 and snows covering the school motto tablet still remain. we expect your return. we are aware that you travel thousand miles after leaving school and make some achievements. but when you slow down, we hope that you can stop and look back. despite of changes in time or long distance, home is here and we are here for you.
we expect your return though it’s not definite; when we gather some day in the future, we will be free from sorrow of separation;
the inner feelings are hard to be expressed and we only hope that everything remains the same; for years apart, we hope that this letter finds you well.
